Promoting Sustainable Energy Development and Ecological Restoration

Third Planet promotes sustainable energy development in the United States and Florida through program work and by supporting academic research on ecological restoration and other key water issues. We also work in the Islands of the Caribbean on sustainable energy development and environmental issues. Our program work is focused primarily on interactive public education, research and actions related to:

Progressive energy policy and its implementation, including
Community power and systems for urban redevelopment and growth in the 21st century
Integrated power/transportation energy systems
Development and deployment of renewable technologies and fuels
Distributed generation and expanded local natural gas distribution
Full fuel-cycle energy efficiency for natural gas
Energy conservation and efficiency
Hydrogen infrastructure
Power plant, transmission, and distribution siting issues

Third Planet has engaged in a diverse range of local and international projects and is a recognized source of balanced information on energy, sustainable development, and global climate change.
