Third Planet is a Florida-based NGO established in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In 2005 Third Planet was classified as a non-profit operating foundation that devotes most of its financial resources directly to the conduct of its own programs.
Third Planet has received contributions from private foundations, individuals, in-kind gifts from the business community, and grants from philanthropic organizations.
From its inception Third Planet's programs have been built around the two pillars of our organizational mandate:
1. To assist the general public in learning about and implementing sustainable lifestyles.
2. To assist traditional cultures in their efforts to rejuvenate, promote, and make relevant to the public at large, their traditional folk art, design, and science.

Chairman DR. ING. DAVID BENJAMIN
Principal, Environmental Design Partners, Inc.
David Benjamin, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Third Planet, holds a Ph.D. (Doktor Ingenieur) in Architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and is a practicing urban designer. Dr. Benjamin is certified by the National Charrette Institute as a Public Meeting Facilitator and the United States Green Building Council as a LEED Accredited Professional. He has designed and facilitated several charrettes over the last 7 years, among them the Government of the Bahamas island-wide planning of Great Exuma, the Broward County County-wide Community Design Guidebook, and for the Native American reservation housing authorities in Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

Robert Farmer, President of Third Planet, is a planning engineer, engine sales executive, marketing communications specialist and accomplished public speaker on energy and climate change issues, with a particular interest in community-level power generation and distribution systems. He was a planning engineer with Bristol-Siddeley Engines/Rolls-Royce Gas Turbines Ltd. in the United Kingdom before moving to Canada and eventually the USA. He has over 30 years of energy and engine industry experience in North America.
BARRY BENJAMIN

Has extensive management experience in the hospitality industry and uses that knowledge to help people develop, plan and implement environmental management systems of all types, large and small. He is also a professional photographer; owner and founder of Benjamin Visuals; a member of the Professional Photographers of America; Hospitality Sales and Marketing Industry Association; Greening of Industry; International Consultants Network of the ISES, Bioneers and many other local and national environmental organizations.
MICHAEL J. McADAMS, Esquire Policy Director, Brownstein Hyatt Farber and Schreck, Washington, DC
In his role Mr. McAdams represents a number of clean energy technology clients. His principle focus involves his leadership role in the Advanced Biofuels Association. He serves as the President of the Association and has testified before the United States Congress on multiple occasions. In addition he actively works with the Executive Branch including the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, the Department of Agriculture and the Treasury to name but a few.
Mr. McAdams has been involved in energy policy for over 30 years. He spent time working for several members of Congress, including current member Ralph Hall. Following his time with the Congress, Michael worked for 14 years with BP (British Petroleum). During his tenure he was an Associate Group Policy Advisor to Chairman Lord Browne, and worked on the progressive energy agenda for the company. He was personally involved with the writing of BP climate policy, the direction and implementation of its clean fuels program both gasoline and diesel, and the first New Source Review settlement concerning the 9 US refineries BP operated at the time. He has a long tenured and respected history involved in the clean energy and environmental space.
Mr. McAdams has a JD from Washington College of Law, American University. He is a frequent speaker around the world on Advanced Biofuels and the opportunities in improving environmental performance with technology.
